      • Chemistry for my life - Hanwha chemistry adds value to your everyday life.
      • 06:00 AMI wake up to the chilly morning air. My day starts early but full of energy. EVAEVA is an eco-friendly material with elasticity and softness which makes it ideal for sneaker soles. Its properties of transparency, flexibility and low-temperature sealability also make EVA an ideal material for laminating films and solar-module sheets.
      • 09:00 AMLike everyone else, I move among others, picking up my pace, as I make my way into the subway to go to work . CACaustic soda is essential in a wide range of industrial products including paper, textiles, detergents, metals, food and electrical generation. Chlorine is a natural co-product of caustic soda and is used to produce polycarbonates.
      • 02:00 PMA cup of coffee cheers me up in the middle of a hectic day. PEA polymer with outstanding physical properties and environmental stability, it is found in many different forms of plastic we use every day. Polyethylene coating applied to paper cups prevent leakage.
      • 06:00 PMTime to wrap up! Driving home, my hands tap lightly on the handle. TDIsTDI is a feedstock for PU resin and adhesives. Flexible foams are used in shoes, furniture, automotive components, bedding and toys. Semi-rigid foams are used in car interior materials.
      • 11:00 PMTime to rest up for a fresh start tomorrow. Survived another day, good job! PVCPVC has a wide range of residential applications such as wallpapers, flooring materials, window frames, cable sheathing, stationary and toys.

      Process Details

      LDPE Process Details

      • 01

        Compressing

Put ethylene at gas phase in the Compressor.

        Compressor
mechanical device used for compressing gas to increase pressure

      • 02

        Reacting

Put compressed ethylene in the Reactor with Initiator.

        Reactor
a device used for chemical reaction.

        Initiator
a substance that initiates a chemical reaction or polymerization.

      • 03

        Extruding and Separating

In this process, the LDPE product is converted into uniform sized pellets.
Unreacted ethylene is recovered through a separator and reused.

      • 04

        Packing and Shipping

Products are stored and inspected before they are shipped.

      PVC Process Details

      • 01

        Polymerization

VCM, water and raw supplements are put in a reactor and heated.

      • 02

        Stripping

Slurry (a mixture of solids and liquids) that comes out of the reactor is put into the stripping column through the top. Steam is blown into the bottom of the stripping column to remove unused VCM in the slurry. The left-over VCM is reused.

      • 03

        Decanting and Drying

The slurry becomes dehydrated by being passed through a decanter (centrifuge). It is then passed through a dryer with coils immersed in hot water. Hot air in the dryer and the coil in hot water maintain the temperature necessary to turn the slurry into a PVC resin of powdery state.

      • 04

        Packing and Shipping

PVC resin is stored in a silo then packed and shipped.

      CA Process Details

      • 01

        Salt Water Purification

Salt is dissolved in water through a purification process to remove impurities.

      • 02

        Electrolytic Bath

After removing impurities, the salt water is put in an electrolyzer to break down into Chlorine, Caustic Soda and Hydrogen.

      • 03

        Transfer and Shipment

        • Chlorine gas is refined and liquefied to be shipped in trucks. They can also be re-vaporized to be sent to VCM/ECH plants or customer plants through pipes.
        • Caustic Soda is concentrated and stored so it can be transported by trucks or ships.
        • Hydrogen goes through refining process to be used as fuel or sent to customers’ plants.

      TDI Process Details

      • 01

        Reaction Process

TDA and COCl2 produce TDI(main product)
        and HCl(by-product) through TDA Phosgenation.

        TDA
substance produced by reacting Hydrogen with DNT

        COCl2
substance produced by reacting Chlorine with CO

      • 02

        By-product Separation Process

TDI, HCl and other byproducts are separated after being produced in the reaction process.

      • 03

        Refining Process

TAR and other light products are removed from TDI.

      • 04

        Shipping

Final TDI product in liquid form is stored and shipped in tanks or drums.
