Manufacturing Process

PVC Process Details

01. Polymerization

VCM, water and raw supplements are put in a reactor and heated.

02. Stripping

Slurry (a mixture of solids and liquids) that comes out of the reactor is put into the stripping column through the top. Steam is blown into the bottom of the stripping column to remove unused VCM in the slurry. The left-over VCM is reused.

03. Decanting and Drying

The slurry becomes dehydrated by being passed through a decanter (centrifuge). It is then passed through a dryer with coils immersed in hot water. Hot air in the dryer and the coil in hot water maintain the temperature necessary to turn the slurry into a PVC resin of powdery state.

04. Packing and Shipping

PVC resin is stored in a silo then packed and shipped.
