PA is produced by catalytic oxidation of Ortho-Xylene. It is mainly traded in powder or flakes and used as a feedstock for plasticizers (DOP, DBP, etc.), paint, and polyester resins.
MA is produced by the oxidation of Benzene or the vapor-phase oxidation of N-Butane and takes on the appearance of white needle crystals or granular crystals. It is a feedstock for unsaturated polyester resins and fumarate acids.
