With hindsight we can summon the optimism which is the backbone of our dreams, resurrecting the confidence generated by the spirit of togetherness; an excitement that selfishness can in no way equal. Dreaming of tomorrow rather than dwelling on today, the spirit of Hanhwa creates hope for a brighter future.
'Having started active contribution efforts back in 2002, Hanwha sought to go beyond its success and accolades, to make its "Corporate Citizenship" goal, the basis for its social duties. Every subsidiary has led independent campaigns to give back to the community, sparking corporate -level efforts by Hanwha to make similar contributions on a greater scale. The subsequent establishment of teams dedicated to organizing social contributions and activities like the, “Friends of Love, Friends of the Future" campaign, reaping benefits for social welfare, the arts, environmental conservation, volunteer programs and brother-sisterhood programs. Program Customization highlights the strengths of each subsidiary, and each has a representative responsible for social contribution issues.
Effective social contribution planning requires an organized balance of manpower, materials and financial resources. To generate the key component of financial resources, a campaign has been launched throughout Hanwha to encourage employee participation in donation efforts. Coupled with the 'Matching Grant' scheme, a commitment to match employee donations, this has led to a remarkable outcome. Just one year after the proposal's inception, Hanwha achieved 90% employee participation and by 2004, the matching rate was augmented from 100% to 150%. The 'Brighter-Community Fund', which has been raising funds through the unilateral efforts of the Hanwha family, is an on-going project seeking to benefit a diverse range of causes.
-In the present environment, social contributions are more than just financial handouts, as they spread to more direct "hands-on" commitments by which volunteers redefine added value. Maximizing benefits and maintaining an active level of employee volunteerism are key motivational factors in the 'Participatory Partnership Program’.
