Hanwha Group was the first to launch a group-wide environmental initiative, the ECO-2000program in 1991. The Group adopted its primary management principles including the environment, safety and health in 2000 and introduced ECO-YHES. For ECO-YHES, Hanwha Chemical selected “6 Core Values” based on which we set our mid to long term objectives under the name “Risk Management Strategy(RMS)2010”
ECO-YHES is a unique Hanwha management value meant to express Hanwha’s desire to continue to develop and accept social responsibilities. The name was created by putting together HES (health, environment, safety) with the word “yes”.

To continue to develop and accept social responsibility, Hanwha Chemical Corporation regards the Environment, Safety and Health as unique company management values.
- We are doing our best to meet customer expectations and requests for our products and services, while providing safe and nature-friendly products and services.
- We are helping to secure the health and safety of the local community by working to prevent loss of life and material losses in all procedures from product development of to production, sales and service.
- We are actively promoting pollution prevention in all company management procedures by establishing an environmental management system for environment preservation and the creation of a clean working environment.
- We use resources effectively and save energy through fundamental control of all resources and energy needed for all management activity procedures.
The 6 Core Values are as follows : management systems intergration ; efficient resources; global environment preservation ; Responsible Care(RC) activities; a risk management system; and ESH performance evaluation. RMS 2010 was formulated centering on those six values. The objective of RMS 2010 is to uncover and implement company-wide improvements for the period 2005 to 2010.
